What is the best way to avoid pulling out the grease fittings when removing the grease gun tip?
A: WARNING: Use extreme care when disconnecting the grease gun tip from these grease fittings. They are anchored with a heat-set insert in nylon and can be pulled out or broken if too much force is used. A lock-and-lube type tip is always advisable for grease guns, but it is strongly recommended for these fittings unless your grease gun tip releases very easily.
What grease is best for nylon wheel, steering, swivel and king pin bushings?
A: Mobilgrease 28 (or similar synthetic aviation grease) is the best choice. It is PAO-based and highly compatible with nylon.
Why is Mobilgrease 28 recommended?
A: It works great on nylon-to-metal interfaces, handles high loads and temperature swings, and won't cause swelling or damage to nylon bushings.
